So first off we have Courtney giving her speech on Light Pollution. I liked her style of presenting the best so far i think. Very clean cut and she made the points obvious. Right from the introduction she lays out her points and informs her audience of what they will be hearing about. Then Matthew came out with his speech about 'Drinking'. Matthew try's to portray drinking with a negative connotation to it using the example of people drinking just to drink and get drunk. Which, i am not endorsing drinking, but those who i know definitely drink to get drunk. I wasn't aware that there are other reasons for drinking. However, i do agree with Matt on the whole against drunk driving movement. If you are intoxicated, just pass out. There is no need to drive. Careful planning saves lives. If you are going to go to a party and plan on drinking yourself to a good place. Have a sober friend for the night. Better yet, most of the parties around state you can walk to, so there is no need to drink and drive!
Courtney definitely gave me some insight on how to clean up my speeches since as you've probably read in my previous blogs, they aren't the clearest and most prepared! Lets see, something that stood out in Matts speech that our professor would probably like to see me use is when he takes his time and recovers. I would just go off and start making things up lol. He was calm and collective. Which is definitely the way to go!
as for all my followers, thanks for following my blog! and i know i haven't been putting in as much work as i should be and i apologize for that because you deserve more from me! So, i will be putting in more man hours to my blogs and making them more of a joy to read, thank you for your patience, and good luck to everyone on their speeches!!!

Hey buzz,
ReplyDeleteI agree on the fact that Matthew presents his speech in a calm, cooling manner. Though I agree that it is successful, I think presenting a speech in a high-energy and enthusiasm would grab my attention more often than not. I second the ideas that there is actually no "reason" to drink, maybe to get drunk, but that yields dangerous results.
I believe that the understanding of drinking will never be completely understood mostly because drinking simply gives people that feeling of bliss and fun. It is unimaginable what drunk people are capable of doing to innocent people out there. "Better yet, most of the parties around state you can walk to, so there is no need to drink and drive!" Haha, good point.
Alright buzz, I'm sure you'll do good on your speech man, good luck.
Hello Buzz! Yes, it would be far better to take a second to recover than to make things up. This is why you have an outline, and ultimately notecards - they are your plan. Stick to your prepared plan, and you should do decently. What else did you notice from the videos that you think you will be incorporating into your speech?
