research interview
I have given an interview on two occasions. First the interview was with one of my teachers in highschool for my AP Spanish course. Given the interview was in spanish so it was probably a little different then if i was giving it in english. One of the only things I was worried about was the use of correct words. It is a little difficult when talking in a second language lol. Also having a good reserve of questions to ask is helpfull. The second instance was a little better since it was in english. My second interview was with one of my parents friends who owns his own business. It was for my bus. 10 class last semester actually. I felt a little intimidated by him because he knew so much about the topics i asked him it was kind of overwhelming. So i would definitely suggest researching the topics of your interview before you dive into the interview itself as you might feel unprepaired.

That is really interesting that you had to interview someone in another language, it must have been very difficult to put questions together. Although, I would think it would be less intimidating like the parent interview because in this case this was your second language and I am guessing there was less pressure about knowing the topic or asking concrete questions.
ReplyDeleteFor your second interview, I could fully understand how you felt overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge and information. The reason that is, is because when you are interviewing you want to be ble to understand what the person is telling you, so if you do not have enough information, your not going to understand. Then the interview becomes kind of pointless. Therefore, I agree that researching the topic before interviewing is essential to having a meaningful interview.
The first interview I did was also in Spanish and I would also say that it was very challenging, not being very good at Spanish I found it even more difficult. But I also agree that it is very important that you know some background information. It could feel very daunting when the person that you are interviewing starts to “ramble” on about something you not that familiar with or for that matter in a different language. I also agree that it is very important to have a lot of questions in hand. I would defiantly try to have a good understanding of the topic and lots of questions.
